Extractions
Extractions
Although we try to save teeth whenever possible, there are a variety of reasons why a tooth may need to be extracted. Reasons why a tooth may need to be extracted include, but are not limited to:
- A primary tooth that is preventing the normal eruption of a permanent tooth.
- A tooth that has severe decay or trauma that it is no longer restorable
- A tooth that has severe periodontal disease, or bone loss.
Depending on the complexity of the case, a tooth is removed surgically or non-surgically. Some teeth may require removal by the oral surgeons depending on their complexity. This will be discussed with you as this is determined on a case by case basis.
